Judo's finest

Created in 1978, the Grand Slam Tokyo is one of the must-see events of the judo season. The 2011 edition will make no exception, with Lagardère Unlimited representing the international broadcast rights through its subsidiary company IEC in Sports.

The Grand Slam Tokyo is an international judo competition held since 1978, featuring the best judokas in the world. Great names like double world champions Gévrise Emane and Haruna Asami or double Olympic medalist Tiago Camilo have been confirmed and will fight in the Japanese capital from December 9 to 11.

And while Dentsu and TV Tokyo will market this 2011 edition, IEC is set to exclusively represent the international broadcast rights. ''IEC is honoured to be appointed. We recognize this as the jewel in the crown of international judo events, where the world's best take on the nation that invented the sport'', says Max Kallberg, joint C.E.O, IEC in Sports. This competition is part of the International Judo Federation Grand Slam Series.
