Lagardère has longstanding links with the sporting world, and has been involved in sports sponsorship for several years. Lagardère Paris Racing, one of Europe's largest multiple-sport clubs, has outstanding facilities designed to accommodate everything from amateur to pro-level competitions. Established in 2005, TeamLagardère offers training facilities and a centre of expertise for top-tier athletes. The Jean-Luc Lagardère Foundation's mission is to support and encourage the careers of talented young individuals both in France and abroad, particularly through sports, which serve as a vehicle for social cohesion.

At the end of 2006, Lagardère made sports-related business a strategic development priority by creating Lagardère Sports, which specializes in sports economy. A major player in its market, Lagardère Sports covers media and marketing rights management for rights-holders plus event organization.

Already a leading player in the media and sporting worlds, Lagardère today enters a new phase with the launch of Lagardère Unlimited, which will help position the company in the rights-management and image-marketing fields for sportspeople and artists in France and abroad.
